Free cybersecurity education for schools and senior communities.
CyberCEO is a student-run outreach nonprofit based at Del Norte High School. We run workshops for elementary students, training for the staff who support senior residents, and career panels for high schoolers. Every session is free, and we bring our own materials.

Our impact so far
Why it matters
Most people never learn any of this until something goes wrong.
Elementary students are online before anyone teaches them how accounts and passwords work. Senior residents are one of the most targeted groups for phone and email fraud, and the staff who support them rarely get training on it.
We open every assembly with three real incidents so that students understand the subject is not hypothetical before we get into passwords and phishing.
Ransomware that spread worldwide, locking hospitals and businesses out of their own files.
One bad software update grounded flights and froze systems globally. Not every major incident is an attack.
Code that broke real machinery and changed how governments think about cyberweapons.
What we do
Three programs, three audiences
Elementary assemblies
An Introduction to Cybersecurity workshop for fourth and fifth graders. We cover what cybersecurity is, how to build a password that holds up, and how to recognize a scam email, using games and live demos rather than lecturing.
Senior residences
We train the caretakers and staff who support senior residents, then leave behind a written guide covering how to protect accounts and what to do if a resident has already been targeted.
High school panels
Professionals from the FBI, the defense industry, and cybersecurity training companies come to Del Norte to talk about the threat landscape, career paths, and where the field is heading.

We work across San Diego County and are actively looking for new partners outside Poway Unified.
2026 / 27 focus
Expansion
Last year we set out to diversify what we offer, and we got through it: new lesson formats, sessions at senior community events, and our first school outside Poway Unified. This year is about running those same programs in more places.
More senior residences
Returning to Villa Rancho Bernardo and adding homes such as Remington House, with staff training and the caretaker guide at each one.
More districts
Continuing past Poway Unified into elementary schools in districts we have not worked with before, with a focus on schools that have no program like this.
More panels and camps
Another Cybersecurity Expert Panel at Del Norte, plus library workshops and summer camps that anyone can sign up for.

There are four ways to work with us
Most of what we have done started with one email from a teacher, a librarian, or a parent who knew someone. If any of these describe you, get in touch.
Schools, libraries, senior residences
Book a workshop
Assemblies fit a standard class period. Staff training runs about an hour. Both are free, and we supply the slides, games, and handouts. Tell us who we would be speaking to and how long we have.
Del Norte students
Join the club
We meet Mondays at Del Norte during the school year and online over the summer. You do not need any background in cybersecurity. Members write lessons, present at workshops, and run outreach.
Industry and public sector
Speak, host, or sponsor
Join a panel, host a site visit for our members, or sponsor a season of programming. Sponsorships and employer matching go straight into materials, printing, and travel, which is what keeps workshops free.
Anyone
Make an introduction
An introduction to a principal, librarian, or residence director is often worth more to us than a donation, especially in neighborhoods that do not already have programs like this.
